Privacy Policy
Protn ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.
1. What We Collect
Account information
Your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth — we never see your plain-text password). Your chosen username.
Health & fitness data
Your daily protein goal (in grams) and food log entries you choose to record, including food names and protein amounts.
Social data
Friend connections you initiate or accept within the app. Your friends can see your daily protein total — this is the core feature of Protn.
Usage data
Basic app interaction data (e.g. login timestamps) to operate the service. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs.
2. How We Use Your Data
- → To operate and provide the Protn app and its features.
- → To show your protein progress to friends you have connected with.
- → To send you account-related emails (e.g. email confirmation, password reset).
- → To power our AI food search (your food query is sent to OpenAI to estimate protein content — no personal identifiers are included).
- → We do not sell your data to any third party, ever.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following trusted third-party services to operate Protn:

4. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your personal data — including food logs, protein goals, and friend connections — is permanently deleted from our database within 30 days.
5. Your Rights
- → Access: You can view all data associated with your account within the app.
- → Deletion: You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data.
- → Export or correction: Email us at hello@protnapp.com and we'll respond within 7 days.
6. Children's Privacy
Protn is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it immediately.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of Protn after changes means you accept the updated policy.
